I really enjoyed the tv adaptation of this, so i thought i’d give it a go. it was decently similar in storyline to the show, which i expected, since the first couple of seasons are actually based pretty strongly on the book. what bothered me however was, how overly dramatic the protagonists‘ thought processes were. also, it’s amazing how incredibly toxic ALL of the parents are. the book also wasn’t improved by the narrator, who actually sounds like a sixteen year old girl, but in my opinion wasn’t made for a life as a novel narrator.
